Kumar General Store

Kumar General Store is tucked away in Shop Number- 31/116 in Lohar Gali. If you know Agra, you know how tight and busy Lohar Gali can get, especially with everyone heading towards the Mankamshewar Mandir. Our shop is right near the temple, so we get a lot of people passing by on their way to pray. We keep the usual things, from household items to snacks and small bits and pieces people need at home. The street outside is always full of noise, people shouting and bells ringing from the temple. Inside the shop, it’s a bit quieter, though we are constantly moving boxes around to find what someone asked for. My father started this and now we just keep it going as it was. We don't really do anything fancy here, it’s just shelves filled to the ceiling with whatever we could fit. In the rainy season, the lane gets a bit muddy and business slows down, but otherwise, it’s always moving. We know most of the people living in Rawat Pura by name because they've been coming here for ages. Sometimes we sit on the wooden bench outside when it’s slow, just watching the crowd go by. It’s a simple life running a store in this part of Agra. We just try to keep the essentials in stock so nobody leaves empty-handed when they stop by. It isn't much, but it's our daily routine and it keeps the neighborhood going with their basic needs.
