Jeetu General Store

Jeetu General Store is located in the heart of Taj Ganj in Agra. Specifically, we are in Kasaret Bazar, which is one of those old parts of the city that stays busy no matter what time it is. Living and working in Agra, you get used to the tourists, but our shop is mostly for the people who actually live here in the narrow streets. We carry all the basic stuff like lentils, spices, and household cleaners. The shop isn’t very big, so we have stuff stacked all the way to the ceiling. You have to be careful not to knock anything over when you walk in. Kasaret Bazar has a certain smell and feel to it that you won't find anywhere else. It’s the smell of old stone and cooking and lots of people. We’ve been here for years, and the building itself is quite old with thick walls. We don't have a website or any of that modern stuff. We just stand behind the counter and help whoever walks through the door. Sometimes we have a chat about the weather or the local news while we are weighing out the goods. It’s a very human way of doing things. We don't use fancy labels, just our own hands and some old scales. It’s a lot of work but it’s what we know how to do here in Taj Ganj.
