J P General Store

If you head down to the Main Bazar in Khandauli, you’ll find J P General Store. We’ve been operating out of this spot in Agra for a good number of years now. It’s a basic shop, really. We stock everything from washing powder to bags of rice. The space is a bit small, so we have to stack things high sometimes. It’s just how it goes in an old market area. We get a lot of people from the nearby villages coming in when they visit the bazaar. Dealing with the same suppliers and customers for years makes things easier. We don't use any fancy systems to track what we sell; we just keep an eye on the shelves. When something runs out, we order more. It’s a straightforward way to do business. The road outside can get quite dusty and loud with all the traffic, but inside it’s just the usual routine. We aren't looking to expand or become a chain. Staying local in Khandauli suits us just fine. Most days are busy, but we always have time for a quick word with the regulars. It’s a community thing more than anything else. We keep the doors open late enough for people coming home from work to grab what they forgot. It’s just a regular general store for regular people who live nearby.
