Haji Kallu Bhai & Sons

This place at 9/22 Dera Saras in Nai Ki Mandi has been in our family for more years than I can count. If you ever walk through the narrow lanes around here, you’ll recognize the smell of the market and the constant hum of activity. That is exactly where we belong. Our shop isn't much to look at from the street, just a plain door and a sign that has seen a lot of seasons. Inside, it’s a bit of a jumble with stacks of stuff and half-finished work sitting on every available surface. We still do most things by hand or use machines that have been around since my father’s time. It can get loud and a bit messy, but it’s the work we know how to do. My sons are here with me every day, helping out and learning the business just like I did. We don’t see the point in spending money on shiny decorations or offices. We’d much rather just put our heads down and finish the task in front of us. Most people come to us because they know our name and what we do. We sit on stools, drink some tea, and talk about whatever needs to be made. It’s a slow process sometimes, and we don't believe in rushing things. The neighborhood is very close, and everybody knows everyone else’s face, which makes the days go by a bit faster.
