Gungun Ladies Corner

Gungun Ladies Corner is a small shop we run at Langde Ki Chowki, right by the Bypass Road in Agra. Unlike the bigger general stores nearby, we focus more on the small things that women in the neighborhood need. We have drawers full of colorful bangles, different shades of thread, and all kinds of hair clips and pins. It’s a tiny space, but we’ve managed to fit a lot into it over the years. The shop is often a place where women from the local houses stop to chat for a few minutes while they pick out some bindis or safety pins. The noise from the bypass is always there in the background, but inside, we're usually busy talking about family or the latest designs. It’s not a very formal place. Sometimes someone will bring their kids, and they’ll be running around the small aisles while the mothers look at the bangles. I try to keep the stock updated with what people like, though it’s hard to keep up with everything. We don't use any fancy marketing. People just know we are here when they need something specific for a wedding or just for their daily use. It's a modest little corner, but it’s ours and we’ve been here for quite some time now. We just take it one day at a time, making sure we have enough variety to keep the ladies happy when they visit.
