Goyal Provision Store

We are located over at Kheria Mode in Agra, right in the Shah Ganj area near Bharah Khmba. It is a busy place to have a shop, that's for sure. The Goyal Provision Store has been around for some time, and it’s mostly just a place for the locals to pick up their monthly rations. I spend a lot of my time weighing out sugar or pulses into small plastic bags. The scale is a bit old but it works fine if you don't rush it. Usually, the mornings are slow, so I drink my tea and read the paper before the first rush starts around ten. Shah Ganj is a bit cramped, so parking near the store is always a bit of a headache for people, but they manage. I try to keep the shelves filled with the things people actually use, nothing too experimental or expensive. Sometimes the kids from the nearby school come in for candies or those little toy packets. I have to keep an eye on them so they don't knock over the stacks of soap. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but there never seems to be a good time to close up and get it done. Every day is pretty much the same routine of opening the shutters and checking the inventory. It’s just hard work and being here when people need a bottle of water or some salt.
