Deepak General Stores

This is Deepak General Stores, and we are based in the Main Market of Khandoli, right here in Agra 282001. Our shop is just one of many in this busy area, but we’ve managed to find our own rhythm over the years. We carry the kind of stuff you always need but forget to buy in bulk—things like batteries, light bulbs, salt, and spices. It’s a modest little place with shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We have to use a small ladder sometimes to get things down for people. The heat in Agra can be tough in May and June, so the afternoons are usually quiet while everyone stays indoors. But once the sun starts to set, the market comes alive and we stay busy until late at night. We don't have a big staff, just us family members taking turns behind the counter. There’s no mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just want to have the right items in stock when someone needs them urgently. Sometimes we get deliveries that are late, or the rain leaks a little near the door, but we manage. It’s a real place with real problems and real people. We know the names of the kids who come in for candy and the elders who want their specific brand of tea. It’s a simple way to live and work, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
