The Cat's Whiskers

Our little shop is at number 4 in Tamanna Market, right along Dayalbagh Road. It’s a lively area, and we’ve been here long enough that we recognize most of the cars that drive past every morning. The name of the shop usually gets a smile from people walking by for the first time. Inside, it’s a bit cramped because we like to keep a lot of different things on the shelves. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything like that; we just put things out and see what people need. The bells on the door ring all day long as people pop in and out. We spend a lot of time dusting the displays and rearranging the items to make more room. There’s a small stool behind the counter where we sit when things get quiet, but that doesn't happen very often. Usually, there's a neighbor coming in to complain about the traffic or someone asking for directions to the main part of town. We keep a bowl of water outside for the stray dogs and cats, which seems to fit the name of the place. It’s not a high-end boutique, just a local spot where you can find what you’re looking for without a lot of trouble. The walls are covered in old calendars and a few pictures we liked, making it feel more like a home than a business.
