Our place is located at B 13 in the Barula Market area of Dodh Pur. It’s managed by Khalid Khan, the son of Shabbir Hasan Khan, and we’ve been part of this market for a while. It’s a busy spot, especially in the evenings when everyone comes out to shop for their homes. We deal with various items that fit into the daily life around here. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be smart about how we pile things up on the shelves. You’ll see a mix of stuff, whatever people are needing lately. We spend a lot of time talking to customers who come in, many of whom have been coming to this market for years. It’s more of a community thing than just a business. Sometimes the roof leaks a little near the front door during the monsoon, but we just put a bucket out and keep going. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people walking by and seeing what we have in stock. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for us in this neighborhood. Khalid is usually around to oversee things and chat with the other shopkeepers. We aren't looking to become some huge chain. We just want to keep the shelves stocked and the regulars happy with what they find here. It gets hot during the summer, but we have a couple of fans that help.
