Bunty General Store

Bunty General Store is located in Daresi No. 2, right in the heart of the Main Bazar in Agra. We’ve been operating out of this spot for quite some time now. The shop is mostly just a single room filled with tall wooden racks that go all the way to the ceiling. We sell things that people need for their daily lives, like cooking oil, sugar, matches, and local snacks. It’s a very practical place. We don't have any fancy decorations or bright lights, just a few tube lights that sometimes flicker when the power is low. The street outside in Daresi No. 2 is always crowded with scooters and carts, so there’s always a lot of dust flying around. I spend a lot of my time with a duster, trying to keep the packets clean, though it’s a never-ending job. Bunty is usually at the back checking the stock while I handle the customers at the front counter. We have a lot of regular customers from the neighborhood who come in just for a small chat while they buy their groceries. Sometimes it gets frustrating when the delivery truck can't get through the narrow bazar streets, and we have to carry the heavy crates ourselves. But that’s just part of running a shop here. We close up around nine at night, tidy up the counter, and head home. It’s hard work but it’s what we do to keep the family going.
