Baroli Ahir Poor Children Foundation

Down in Baroli Ahir, right near Agra, is where we do our things. Rajat Singh lets us use the space here for the Baroli Ahir Poor Children Foundation. It's not a big school building or anything like that, just a spot where the local kids can come. Around here, things can be tough for families, so we just try to be a steady presence. Some of us grew up right on these same streets. We see the kids playing outside and know they need a bit more than what they’re getting. It’s pretty basic work, honestly. We spend a lot of time talking to parents and seeing what the children actually need for their day-to-day life. Sometimes it’s clothes, sometimes it’s just someone to help them read a bit better. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just our little piece of Agra. It gets dusty and hot here, especially in the summer, but the work continues. People know Rajat’s place, so they just drop by when they have something to share or if they need help. It’s a community thing more than a formal organization. We don't have fancy brochures. We just have our hands and some time to give. It’s been this way for a while now and we hope to keep it going as long as the neighbors keep showing up to help out.
