Ayush General Store

Ayush General Store is right at Nagla Bihari Chowk in Agra. If you know Langde Ki Chowki, you know where we are. It’s a busy spot. There is always a lot of dust because of the traffic moving through the intersection. I get here early to sweep the front, but by midday, the dust is back on the glass jars. We keep all the basic stuff. Flour, sugar, some snacks for the school kids who pass by in the afternoon. The shop is small, and sometimes I have to stack the crates of cold drinks right near the door because there’s no other place for them. It gets really hot in Agra during the summer months, and the fan inside just pushes the warm air around. People stop by on their way home from work to pick up things they forgot, like a tube of toothpaste or some cooking oil. The noise from the chowk is constant—scooters, rickshaws, and people shouting. It’s not a quiet place to work, but you get used to it. Sometimes the electricity goes off, and we just sit in the shadows for an hour or two. I know most of the people around here by name. They don’t say much, just pay their bill and go. It’s just a regular shop in a regular part of town, doing what it does every day. We don't have fancy displays, just items on shelves.
