We have been running Awadh Pet Shop And Dog Clinic at the Pujara Ji Market near Bodla crossing for quite some time now. It is a busy spot where Shahganj traffic never seems to stop. Inside, you will usually hear a puppy whimpering or a dog barking while waiting for the doctor. The shelves are packed with bags of dog food and various medicines that people need for their pets. It gets a bit crowded in the afternoons when everyone gets off work and stops by to pick up supplies. The floor usually has some paw prints on it because it is hard to keep up with the cleaning when so many animals come through the door. Our staff is mostly busy carrying heavy sacks of kibble or helping hold a nervous dog during an exam. Being right there at the crossing means we see a lot of people just passing through. It is a practical kind of place without any fancy decorations. We just focus on what the animals need that day. Some days are quieter than others but usually there is someone coming in asking about a leash or a specific vitamin. The walls have some old posters about vaccinations that have been there for years. We know most of the neighborhood dogs by their names now because they have been coming here since they were small. It is just a normal day-to-day business in a busy part of the city where things are always moving.
