Atul Provision Store

Atul Provision Store is tucked away in the Garg Building, right at 16/32 in Agra. Ghatia Azam Khan is an old neighborhood, and the building reflects that. The walls are thick, and it stays a bit cooler inside even when the Agra sun is beating down on the streets outside. We’ve got the 282002 area code stamped on our mail, but mostly we just deal with the locals who walk over. I spend a lot of my time weighing out sugar or lentils into small plastic bags. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it keeps the mind busy. The Garg Building has its quirks, like the way the door creaks every time someone enters. I keep a radio playing some old songs in the background to fill the silence when no one is around. My ledger is getting old, the pages are turning yellow, but I still use it to track who owes what for their monthly groceries. Some days are slow, especially in the afternoon when everyone is napping, but things pick up once the sun starts to go down. I usually have to refill the bins of spice every few days because those sell the fastest. It’s just a regular provision store, nothing more and nothing less. We don't have big signs or bright lights, just the stock on the shelves and a place to sit while we wait for customers to come in and buy their daily needs.
