Anant Lakshay Micro Foundation

Our setup is out in Sahara village, which is a bit of a trek if you aren't from around here. We operate out of Baboo Lal Solanki's place. It’s a VPO Sahara address with the 283105 zip. The village is small and everyone knows where Baboo Lal lives so we don't really need a big map or anything. The office is basically just a room with some basic furniture and a couple of computers that we try to keep the dust off of. Sahara is a quiet place most of the year except during the harvest season. Then it gets really busy with tractors and people moving about. We have a small porch where we sit sometimes when it gets too stuffy inside. The walls are painted a simple white and we have a few old calendars hanging up. Most of the people who come to see us are from the surrounding farms. We spend a lot of time drinking water from the clay pot in the corner and looking over our records. It’s a very practical way to work. There are no elevators or glass walls here. Just bricks and mortar and the sound of birds in the nearby neem trees. We stay busy with the day-to-day tasks that come up. It is honest work in a place that feels very grounded in the local soil. We just take each day as it comes.
