Samrat Spices

You can find Samrat Spices over at 12, West Ramnagar, right on AK Road in Agartala. We’ve been part of this neighborhood in Tripura for a good while now. The shop is right there on the main road, so we get a lot of the dust and noise from the passing traffic. It is a simple setup. We have our grinding machines and the storage area for the raw spices we get in from the suppliers. The smell of cumin and coriander is pretty strong around here, which we like, though it can make you sneeze if you aren't used to it. We are a small team. It’s mostly family and a couple of people from the nearby streets who help us out when things get busy. We don't have a big warehouse or a fleet of trucks. We just have our one spot and we do our best with it. Sometimes the rain in Agartala gets really heavy and we have to scurry around to make sure nothing gets damp. The roof has a small leak we’ve been meaning to fix for months, but we just put a bucket under it and keep working. We don't use fancy packaging with gold foil or anything. We just put the spices in clear bags and label them. It’s about what’s inside, after all. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families at the end of the day.
