A. V. Fertilizer Company

If you walk down N. S. Road in Golbazer, you’ll find A. V. Fertilizer Company. It’s a pretty simple setup we have here. We sell mostly to the local farmers who come in from the surrounding villages. The shop smells a bit like chemicals and earth, which I’ve gotten used to after all these years. We keep the bags stacked high in the back. It’s heavy work moving them around, and my arms are usually tired by the time we close up. We don't have a computer system that works all the time, so we still write a lot of things down in ledgers. It’s easier that way when the power goes out, which happens more than we'd like. People come in and talk about the weather or how their crops are looking this year. We listen and give them what they need. We aren't trying to sell anyone more than they can use. That wouldn't be right. N. S. Road is always busy with people and carts, so it can get pretty noisy. Sometimes we have to shout over the traffic just to talk to a customer. We’ve been in Golbazer for a long time now. Most of the people who come in are regulars. They know where we keep everything. We just keep the doors open and do our best to help whoever walks in. It’s a plain business, but it’s what we do. We usually head home once the sun goes down and the street gets quieter.
