About Vermi Compost & Honey Processing – Agriculture & Farming in Agar Malwa
Our shop is on Ward No.10, right along Shankar Ji Road in Alote. Being so close to the Mahakaleshwar Mandir means we hear the temple bells throughout the day and see the crowds on festival days. It’s an interesting mix here at Vermi Compost & Honey Processing. On one side, we are dealing with the dirt and the worms for the compost, and on the other side, we are handling the jars of honey. It keeps the days from getting boring. The smell of the earth is always around us, which I don't mind. Sometimes the honey gets a bit sticky on the counters, and no matter how much you wipe it down, there's always a spot we missed that catches your sleeve. We spend a lot of time checking on the compost pits to make sure everything is breaking down like it should. It’s a natural process, so you can’t really rush it even if you wanted to. Then there’s the honey part, which is a lot of pouring, filtering, and sealing jars by hand. It’s just me and a couple of others working here most days. We aren't trying to be a big factory or anything like that. We just like working with things that come directly from the ground and the bees. The road outside can get pretty dusty when the tractors go by, but it’s a good location for people heading to the temple to stop in and see us. We just keep doing what we do, day by day, making compost and cleaning honey for whoever needs it.
