You can find us right on the 1st Cross of Kanakapura Main Road. It’s a pretty busy stretch of road, so there is always a lot of noise from the buses and bikes passing by. Our shop is a bit small, but we manage to fit everything we need inside. Most of the walls are covered with shelves for glasses and frames. We spend a lot of our time adjusting hinges and cleaning lenses. It's a bit of a repetitive job, but someone has to do it. The light in the morning is quite good for seeing the fine details on the frames. We don't really do much advertising. People usually just wander in because they live nearby or are passing through on their way to work. It gets quite dusty being so close to the main road, so we are constantly wiping down the counters. There’s a tea stall just a few doors down where we get our morning chai. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped when three or four people come in at once. We just tell them to have a seat on the bench outside if it's too full. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and know many of the regulars who walk past every day. It’s a simple life, just looking at eyes and fixing up spectacles. We don't need anything more than that to keep us going. Some days the traffic is worse than others, but we just stay inside and keep working.
