Venkatramana Tea Shops

Venkatramana Tea Shops is located right at Ambedkar Chowk in Kaghznagar. If you know the area, you know how busy that intersection gets. We have been serving tea here for a while now. It’s not a fancy place with sofas or air conditioning. We just have some benches and the smell of ginger and tea leaves in the air. We start early in the morning, usually before the first buses start running through the chowk. The stove is always on and the kettle is almost never empty. My hands are usually stained from the tea and the sugar. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, especially when the weather gets really hot in Kaghznagar. People from all over stop by. Some are workers going to their shifts, and others are just passing through town. We don't have a big menu. We just do tea and maybe a few biscuits if we have them in stock. The noise from the traffic at Ambedkar Chowk is something you just get used to after a few weeks. Sometimes we run out of milk and I have to send someone to get more quickly. It’s a small business, just a way to earn a living. We don't have any big plans to expand or anything. We just like being here at the chowk, watching the town go by while we pour another cup.
