Jai Cold Drink

If you are waiting for a bus in Village Mohegaon, you’ve probably seen Jai Cold Drink. We are right there near the bus stand in Tehsil Nandgaon. It is a small shop, and we keep things pretty simple. The main thing is the fridge, which we have to keep running all the time so the drinks stay cold for the travelers coming through. When a bus pulls in, it gets very crowded for about ten minutes, and then it goes back to being quiet again. We spend the quiet times cleaning the glass or restocking the shelves with whatever came in on the last delivery truck. Village life is slow, but the bus stand keeps us on our toes most of the day. We don't have any fancy decorations, just the bottles lined up and a few benches for people to sit on while they drink. The dust from the road comes in whenever the wind blows, so there is a lot of sweeping to do every single morning. We know most of the drivers and the people who live around here in Mohegaon. It’s not a complicated business. We just make sure we have enough stock and that the change is ready for the customers. Sometimes the electricity flickers, and we worry about the fridge, but we make do with what we have. It’s a good spot to see everyone passing through the tehsil on their way somewhere else.
