Tinna Bricks Company

Tinna Bricks Company is based in the village and post office of Kundal, which is in the Fazilka district. It is quite far out, near the border areas, and the landscape is very flat. We use the local soil from around Kundal to make our bricks. The winters here can be very cold, which makes it hard to get moving in the morning, but the kilns provide plenty of warmth once they are lit. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for several seasons. They know exactly how to stack the bricks so the heat flows through the gaps correctly. It’s an art, even if it looks like just a pile of mud to some people. Fazilka is a quiet place most of the year, but during the harvesting and building seasons, things pick up. We see a lot of tractor-trolleys coming through our gates. We don't have a website or any fancy brochures. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come down to the village and take a look for yourself. Sometimes the clay is a bit different depending on which part of the field we are digging in, so the color of the bricks changes a little bit. We don't mind that, it’s just how nature works. We just stay busy and try to keep the supply steady for the local folks who need it.
