Saswati Samaj Kalyan Foundation

We are located at 49A Gobindapur Road, in Phase 1A. Specifically, we're in EWS Room No 22. It’s not a big space at all, just one room where we’ve squeezed in a few desks and some chairs. Saswati Samaj Kalyan Foundation is a small operation. We focus on the welfare of the people living in this housing area and the surrounding streets. Most of the time, the room is full of people coming in to ask for help with their paperwork or to talk about problems in the building. It gets a bit cramped, especially when we have a few people waiting. We don't have a fancy cooling system, so the windows are always open to let in a bit of a breeze. We do a lot of the work ourselves, from cleaning the office to writing the letters. There’s no big team of experts here. We’re just neighbors who decided to get organized. We keep track of everything in some old notebooks. It’s practical, everyday help. We might help someone figure out their bills or organize a small cleanup of the common areas. It’s not the kind of work that gets you in the newspapers, but it matters to the people here. We stay open late sometimes if there’s a lot to finish. It’s just part of being a local foundation in a place like this. We hope to keep doing it for a long time.
