Our business is based out in Village Siddheshwar, in the Mathurapur area. We are near the police station in the Sunderbans part of South Parganas. It is a long way from the busy streets of Kolkata. Being out here means we work in a very different way. We are developers, but in this area, that means working closely with the land and the local conditions. Our office is a very simple spot right in the village. Most of the people we deal with are our own neighbors. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just build what people need. Sometimes the roads around here are hard to travel on, especially when the heavy rains come through and turn everything to mud. We spend a lot of our time outdoors. It is a quiet life compared to the city, but the work itself is still plenty hard. We use a lot of local materials and try to make things that will actually last in this climate. You won't see us wearing suits or looking like corporate people. We are usually in our work clothes, ready to head out to a site at a moment's notice. People know us by our first names. This has been our home for a long time. We just keep doing our small part to help the village grow. There is always something new to build or fix.
