Open Academic Research Council

Open Academic Research Council is based out of Plot No. 325 and 319 in Mouza Kirtankhola. That’s near Bakhrahat, under the Bishnupur police station area. It’s a bit out of the way, which is actually quite nice for research work. It’s quieter than being right in the center of the city. We have some space here where we look into different academic topics. It’s not as formal as it sounds. We are just a group of people who wanted a dedicated place to study and organize things. The building sits on the plot and we’ve been slowly making it more comfortable over the years. We deal with a lot of papers and data. Sometimes it feels like we are surrounded by files. People from Bakhrahat know where we are. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most people find out about us through word of mouth. It's a very simple setup. We spend our days reading, writing, and sometimes arguing about the best way to get things done. The weather gets quite hot here in the summer, but we keep the fans going and get on with it. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you're coming from far away, but for us, it's just home. We aren't trying to change the world overnight. We just do our bit of research day by day and hope it helps someone eventually.
