Freshfoliage International Private Limited

Out here in Kanyanagar, Bishnupur, things are a little different than the middle of the city. Freshfoliage International Private Limited is run from a place at Kajal Manna’s house. Being in South 24 Parganas means we have a bit more space and air than the crowded streets of central Kolkata. As the name suggests, we deal with foliage and plants which makes sense for this location. The daily routine involves checking on the stock and making sure everything is healthy before it gets shipped out. It is a lot of hands-on work and not just sitting behind a desk all day. We have dirt under our fingernails quite often and the smell of green things is everywhere. It is a simple setup without any fancy corporate branding. We use what we have and focus on the quality of the plants we are sending to people. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult but that is just part of working with nature. We have a small group of people who help out with the packing and the loading. The road outside can get a bit muddy when it rains but we manage to get the trucks in and out anyway. It feels more like a family business because we are all tucked away in this local neighborhood. We don't worry about looking polished as long as the foliage is fresh and ready for the people who are waiting for it.
