Dha Radha Madhab Association

Down in Diamond Harbour, specifically in Naiya Para at Ward 16, you’ll find the Dha Radha Madhab Association. We are based at Harish Shau’s place. It’s a busy part of the district, especially with the port and everything nearby. We are just a bunch of locals who decided to get together and do something useful. There’s no big hierarchy here. Harish keeps things moving, but we all pitch in. We mostly look out for the families in our ward. Life near the water has its own set of problems, and we try to be there when things get difficult. It’s not a formal thing with suits and ties. Most of the time, we are in our regular clothes, just chatting on the porch or in the small meeting room. We deal with whatever comes up—maybe it’s a local dispute or someone needing help with a school form. We’ve been in South 24 Parganas all our lives, so we know the struggles people face here. It’s a lot of manual work and community spirit. We don't have a website or anything like that, just a door that stays open most of the time. If you walk down the lane in Naiya Para, anyone can tell you where Harish lives. We just want to keep the community together and make sure nobody gets left behind in the shuffle. It’s plain and simple work for plain and simple people who live by the harbor every day.
