Captive Builders LLP is based right here on D.H. Road, basically a stone’s throw from Vivekananda Mission School. If you know the Joka area, you know how busy it gets around there. We’ve been at Dag no. 709 for some time now. It’s a practical location for us since we do a lot of work throughout 24 Parganas South. The team is just a handful of local people who know their way around a construction site. We don't really do the whole corporate thing with suits and fancy presentations. Instead, we spend our time checking on materials or talking to the workers. Most of our morning is spent drinking tea and figuring out the schedule for the day. It gets dusty and loud, but that’s construction for you. We don't promise anything we can't actually do. If a job is going to take three weeks, we tell you it’ll take three weeks, maybe four if the rain starts up. Being near the school means we have to be careful with the trucks during pick-up times, which is always a bit of a headache. We’ve lived in this part of West Bengal for years, so we understand the local ground and how things work here. We just want to get the work done right so we can go home at the end of the day. It’s simple, really. No fluff, just building stuff.
