Arshi & Maa Foundation

Arshi & Maa Foundation is located in the village of Betberia. You have to go through Belagachi to get to us, near Baruipur. Habibar Sarder is the one who helps us with the place here. It is very much a rural setting. You can see the fields from our window, and sometimes you hear the cows or the birds while we are trying to work. It’s a long way from the city noise, which we mostly like. The office is just a simple room in the village. We don't have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that wobbles a little when it's on high. It gets the job done though. We spend a lot of our time talking to the locals because that’s who we are here for. We don't have a website that’s updated every day or anything like that. Most people just walk in if they need to talk to us. We keep our records in big ledgers and some on the old computer we have in the corner. It might seem a bit slow to some people, but it works for life in Betberia. We know everyone’s name and whose kids belong to who. It’s that kind of place. We aren't trying to be a corporate giant. We are just a local foundation trying to handle our daily tasks in the village. It is a quiet existence but we keep busy enough.
