Adishr Welfare Association

Adishr Welfare Association is located at G3-5/New Green Park, on Road 3. We are right behind the Ganipur Girls High School in Kolkata. It’s a nice enough area, and being near the school means there are always students and parents around. Our association is a small group of us who wanted to do something for the neighborhood. We focus on welfare activities, which can be anything from helping out a local family to organizing a small cleanup. The office isn't very big, just enough for a desk and some storage for the things we give out. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the neighbors to see what’s needed. It’s not a formal place. You can usually find someone here during the day, but we are often out in the park or near the school. We don't have any corporate funding or anything like that; it’s just small contributions and people giving their time. The building is part of the New Green Park complex, so it feels like being at home. We have some old posters on the wall and a lot of notebooks where we keep track of what we do. It’s just a simple neighborhood association. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just our little corner of Kolkata near Ganipur. Most days it’s just us figuring things out as we go. It keeps the community together and that's enough for us.
