1717 Fashions Private Limited

We are located at 20/2 James Long Sarani, in the Naba Pally area of Joka. It’s a typical neighborhood spot. We are on the 1/6 plot. If you live around Joka, you know it’s a bit of a commute from the main city, but we like it here. The building is just a regular one, nothing that stands out. Inside, we have set up our fashion workshop. We have a couple of rows of sewing machines and a large cutting table that has seen better days. It has scratches all over it from years of use. We don't have a big sign outside or anything like that. Most people find us by word of mouth or by just walking past and seeing the fabric scraps near the door. We work on all kinds of garments. Sometimes we are doing bulk orders and other times it's just a few special pieces. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just come in, turn on the lights, and start sewing. The humidity can be tough on the fabric so we have to be careful with how we store things. We have tea twice a day and talk about what’s happening in the neighborhood. It is a very local operation. We know the rickshaw pullers and the shopkeepers nearby. We are just a small group of people trying to make a living by making clothes that people like to wear.
