Our place is out in the village of Sangberia. If you go through Matia in Basirhat, you will find us. We are right in the North 24 Parganas area of West Bengal. It is a rural spot, so it is a lot quieter than the city, though the sound of the machines can be a bit much in the afternoons. We handle dairy and food products. Most of the people working here are from the village nearby. We don't have a big corporate office with air conditioning. We just have a small room with a desk and some filing cabinets that don't always close right. The work is mostly manual, moving crates and checking the supplies that come in from the farms. The roads around here get very muddy when it rains, which makes it hard for the trucks to get in and out sometimes. We just have to wait it out. It is a practical business. We started this because there was a need for it in this part of the district. We don't spend money on advertisements or anything like that. Word of mouth is usually how people hear about us. We drink a lot of tea during our breaks and talk about the weather or the local news. It is a slow pace of life, but the work itself keeps us busy enough. We just focus on getting things packed and sent out on time.
