Vishmay Construction Private Limited is located over at Sankarpur, right where Tarini Auto Engineering Works is. Bijay Kumar Rout is usually around there if you need to talk to someone about a project. It’s a construction business, so our hands are usually dirty and there is always some kind of machine making noise in the background. We don't have a separate fancy office; we just work out of the engineering shop. It makes sense because we are always needing tools or parts fixed anyway. The yard is usually full of gravel, some old pipes, and maybe a truck or two that’s seen better days. We handle the local building work that comes our way. Sometimes it’s a small wall, other times it’s something bigger that takes a few months. We don't go in for big advertisements or anything like that. Most people find us because they know Bijay or they’ve seen our trucks driving around Sankarpur. Construction is hard on the back and the knees, but we’ve been doing it a long time. There is a lot of dust and it gets hot in the summer, but the work is steady. We just focus on getting the walls up straight and making sure the concrete sets right. It isn't a glamorous life, but it pays the bills and keeps us out of trouble. We're just local guys doing the job. There's plenty of work to go around if you just put your head down.
