Styrax Buildcon Private Limited is up on the 8th floor of the DN-1 building in Sector-5, Salt Lake. Being in Sector-5 means we are surrounded by a lot of tech companies and big offices, but we are just builders at heart. The view from the 8th floor is nice, though we aren't in the office as much as we should be. Most of our time is spent on various sites around Kolkata. We handle the structural side of things, making sure the bones of a building are solid. It’s a lot of coordination between different teams. Our team is small, and we’ve all known each other for a long time. We aren't into the corporate polish you see in some of the other offices in this building. Our desks are usually covered in dust and site photos. We deal with the day-to-day issues of construction, like late deliveries or bad weather. It isn't always easy, but it's what we do. We like the work because you can actually see what you’ve done at the end of the day. A building goes up, and it stays there. That’s a good feeling. We don't have any big slogans. We just try to get the work done without too much fuss. People come to us when they need something built in this part of town, and we just do our best. It is just us and our tools, trying to make things stand up.
