About Sri Shankha Seva Forum – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in 24 Paraganas North
Our forum is located on Senpara (Uttar) Road, not too far from the Madhyamgram Bazar. It is a lively part of North 24 Parganas, and the sounds of the market are always in the background. Sri Shankha Seva Forum isn't some high-profile organization with a lot of money. We are mostly just a group of neighbors who wanted to do something useful for our area. Our office is a small room we’ve rented, and it is usually filled with old chairs and a lot of paperwork. We don't have a full-time staff who sit at computers all day. Most of us have other jobs and we come here in the evenings or on weekends to get things done. We focus on local service, which we call seva. Sometimes that means helping someone get to a doctor or organizing a small event for the neighborhood. It’s not always perfectly organized. There are times when we argue about how to do things or when we run out of tea, but we always manage to keep going. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. We just rely on word of mouth. People in the bazaar know where to find us if they have a problem or just want to chat. We are just a part of the local fabric here, trying to help out where we can. It’s hard work, but someone has to do it.
