Sodepur Jeevan Sikha Charitable Foundation

Our office is in Nisha Apartment, right on R.N. Avenue in Sodepur. It is a busy area in North 24 Parganas. Sodepur Jeevan Sikha Charitable Foundation is not some distant corporation. We are just local residents who wanted to give back to the community. Living in an apartment building like Uttarayan, you see a lot of your neighbors every day. We started this foundation to help with local issues, whether it is education or just helping older folks get around. It is not a big setup. We have a couple of rooms where we keep our files and meet people. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when a few people show up at once. The traffic on R.N. Avenue is always humming in the background. We do not have a big staff. It is mostly just a few volunteers from the neighborhood who have some spare time. We try to keep things simple. No big promises, just small actions. We have been in Barrackpore for a long time, so we know the streets and the people. People know they can knock on our door if they have a problem. We are not looking for awards. We just want to see our part of West Bengal doing a bit better. The 700110 area is our home, and this is just our way of looking after it. It is just a small local effort by neighbors.
