Singhi & Co is based on the third floor at 7, s. k. deb road, third floor kolkata-700048. To get to us, you have to head up the stairs of an older building that has seen plenty of years. The office itself is functional and a bit crowded with all the documents we have to keep on hand. Being on the third floor, we are a little bit removed from the noise of the street, though you can still hear the horns honking down on S. K. Deb Road. It’s a typical Kolkata workspace where things are done in a very hands-on way. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anyone to open the door for you. You just walk in and find someone at a desk. There are several of us working here, mostly focusing on the mundane but necessary details of accounting and tax filings. The desks are usually covered in various papers and folders. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows where everything is, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. We take our work seriously, but the atmosphere is pretty casual among the staff. We’ve been at this address for a long time, so we are a part of the local fabric here. Usually, the day is spent checking entries or going over balance sheets. It is just a regular group of people doing their jobs in a quiet corner of the city, making sure the math stays right.
