Shroff Slidings Private Limited

Shroff Slidings is out in the Madhyamgram area, specifically at Digberia Chatkakhal. We operate out of the same place as Shroff Polycraft, so you just look for that big sign. It’s a bit of a trek if you are coming from the middle of Kolkata, but it’s where we have the space to move things around. We make sliding doors and window systems. The floor is usually covered in aluminum shavings and it sounds like a metal shop because that is exactly what it is. We don't have a quiet office with soft chairs. Most of our day is spent standing up or moving heavy tracks. It’s a bit dusty and the fans just move the warm air around, but we get used to it. The 700128 area is more industrial, so there are trucks everywhere. We share lunch together in a small side room and talk about everything except work for a few minutes. It is a straightforward operation. We get the metal in, we cut it to size, and we put the sliders together. There’s no marketing department here. If someone wants to know what we do, they just walk into the shed and see for themselves. We keep our paperwork in a small cabinet that's seen better days. It is just an honest way to make a living, working with our hands in this part of town. We just focus on getting the sliders moving right.
