Shining Future Care Foundation

The Shining Future Care Foundation is based out of Nimta, in the Kalabagan area at LP 34/7/1/5/1. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but most people know the way. We started this because we saw that a lot of the younger kids around here didn't have a good place to go after school hours. Their parents are often working late, so we opened up this small space for them. It’s not a fancy center. We just have some old chairs, a few tables, and a lot of books that people have given us over the years. We try to help the kids with their reading or just give them a safe spot to hang out so they don’t end up getting into trouble on the streets. We aren't trained teachers or anything like that. We are just adults from the neighborhood who think these kids deserve a bit of attention. Sometimes we don't have enough supplies for everyone, and we have to share things around. It can get a bit loud and messy when the room is full, but we don't mind the noise. We don't have any big funding or corporate sponsors. We just do what we can with the little bit of money we scrape together. It’s a small effort to make sure the kids here have a slightly better start.
