Sea Point Fisheries Private Limited

Our spot is out in Trimohini, right along Taki Road near Basirhat. We are located pretty close to the S.P & Co. house if you are trying to find us. Being in North 24 Parganas, everything revolves around the water and what we can get out of it. We deal with fish, which means our clothes usually smell like the river by lunchtime. It is not a job for someone who likes to stay dry. We have various ponds and we also coordinate with local fishermen to get the best catch of the day. Basirhat is a busy place for the fish trade, and we are right in the middle of it. The humidity here can be brutal, so we have to move fast with the ice. We don’t have a big corporate mission statement or anything like that. We just want to get the fish from the water to the market before it loses its quality. The office is just a small room where we keep our ledgers and some spare nets. Most of our work happens outside in the mud and the sun. Sometimes the catch is small and we worry about the bills, and other times the trucks are full. That is just the nature of the fishery business. We are local people who know these roads and these waters. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day, regardless of the weather. It is how we make our living here.
