Being up on the 14th floor in Sector V means we see a lot of the Salt Lake skyline. It’s a modern building, Plot No. 3, Block Em, but inside it’s just us working away. Exporting stuff involves a lot of waiting for emails and checking shipping schedules. We spend a lot of time on our computers in Unit 11. It's a bit different from the older parts of Kolkata because everything here is so planned out. Still, the coffee machine breaks down more than it should. We have a small team, and we all know each other's habits by now. Some of us have been here since the start. The commute to Bidhannagar can be a bit of a trek for those living further out. We usually eat at our desks while looking over spreadsheets. It’s not very glamorous. There’s always some new regulation or a form that needs filling out. We try to keep things moving so the boxes don't sit in the warehouse for too long. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment is due. The office is quiet most of the time, except for the hum of the air conditioner. We just try to do our jobs without making too much of a fuss. It’s a straightforward business. We deal with people from all over, but we’re just a local office at the end of the day. Keeping track of the paperwork takes up most of our time, but that's just the nature of export work.
