This office is out in Gobardanga. The address is C/O Munmun Debnath in the Gobardanga Bazar area. It’s a very different pace than the city life in Kolkata. You have to take the train to get out here, and then it’s just a short walk from the station. ITKO REALITY PRIVATE LIMITED is basically run out of a small house near the main market. You can hear the sounds of the bazar all day long—people bargaining for vegetables and the bells from the local temple. Munmun’s place is easy to find because of the big tree right out front. We don't have a glass-fronted office or a receptionist to greet people. Usually, you just walk in and find someone sitting at a desk in the front room. There is a ceiling fan that wobbles a little when it's on, but it works fine for us. We deal with land and property around the village and the nearby rural areas. Most of our clients are people we’ve known for years. We sit on plastic chairs and talk over glasses of water or tea. There isn't a lot of high-tech equipment in this office. We have a laptop and a printer, and a lot of notebooks where we write things down by hand. It’s a very practical way of working. When the market is busy on weekends, it gets a bit crowded around our entrance. We don't mind it. It's just how life is in Gobardanga. We finish up early on some days if the work is done and there are no more visitors.
