The office is right at Np 184 in Nayapatty, which is part of Salt Lake City Sector 5. If you know the area, you know it gets pretty busy with people coming and going for work. Our spot isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but it’s where we spend most of our hours. Usually, the day starts with someone unlocking the front gate and checking if the mailman left anything through the slot. We’ve been at this North 24 Parganas address for a while now. The walls inside could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we mostly just focus on the stacks of papers and the phone calls. Sometimes the tea stall down the road brings over a few cups when we have a long afternoon ahead. It’s a bit of a maze back here in the lanes of Nayapatty if you aren’t used to it. Most people just call us for directions once they get to the main crossing. We have a few desks pushed together and some old filing cabinets that squeak when you open them. It feels like a real place, not some glass box in a corporate park. There is a window that looks out onto the street where you can see the rickshaws passing by all day. It gets a little loud when the traffic builds up around five o’clock, but you get used to the rhythm of the neighborhood after a few weeks of working here.
