Fle Welfare International Forum

Our office is on the first floor of a building in Deshbandhu Nagar, Sodepur. It’s flat FL-C 4. It’s a busy neighborhood with lots of people moving around all the time. Sodepur has its own rhythm, and we are right in the middle of it. Even though our name mentions international, we are really just a local group doing welfare work. Our space is basically a converted apartment, so it has a very homey feel to it. We have a few rooms where we keep our files and meet with people who need help. It’s not a formal corporate office with glass partitions or shiny floors. We have some old desks and plenty of chairs for whoever drops by for a chat. We spend our time looking into different ways to help the local community. Sometimes we’re busy with paperwork, and other times we’re out meeting folks in the streets. We don't have a big advertising budget or anything like that. People usually find out about us through word of mouth. On rainy days, the street outside can get a bit flooded, but we still keep the doors open for anyone. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just want to be a place where people can come for help when they need it. It’s a modest setup, but it works for us. We drink a lot of tea and just keep working through whatever needs doing. It’s a good way to stay connected to what’s happening.
