Dreamer Swimming Foundation

Dreamer Swimming Foundation is over in Barasat, specifically at Singhagarhnabapally on B.K.P Road. Litan Halder is the one who keeps everything running. We aren't some fancy sports club with a bunch of rules and expensive memberships. We are just local folks who think everyone should know how to swim and stay active. We spend a lot of time near the water, obviously. It’s a bit disorganized at times because we have so many kids running around and people coming and going. We started this because we saw there weren't many places for regular people to learn these things without paying a fortune. Litan is usually there with a whistle or just shouting instructions from the side. It’s a noisy, wet, and happy place most days. We don't have a big office; most of our business happens right there on the road or by the water’s edge. It’s practical work. We teach the basics and make sure everyone is safe. Some days the weather doesn't cooperate and we just sit around and talk about the neighborhood. We aren't looking for trophies or fame. We just want the kids in Barasat to have something good to do. It’s a lot of work keeping up with everyone, and sometimes we are exhausted by the end of the day. But it’s worth it when you see someone finally getting the hang of it. All the noise and splashing makes it a lively spot.
