Our firm, Doshi, Chatterjee, Bagri & Co., is located at 246/2 R.B.C. Road in Kolkata. We’ve been operating from this 700028 address for a long time now. The office is a bit of an old-school setup, with plenty of shelves holding years' worth of records and tax books. It’s not the kind of place that looks like a modern tech startup. We have heavy wooden desks and the walls are a simple off-white color. R.B.C. Road is always full of life, and we are right in the middle of it all. Most days, we are busy with audit work or helping someone figure out their income tax return. It’s a lot of detail-oriented labor that requires a quiet focus, even when the street noise outside is loud. We have a small group of people here who have worked together for a while. We aren't interested in sounding corporate; we just want to get the work done correctly for the people who trust us. Sometimes we have tea together in the afternoon and talk about the changes in the tax laws. It’s a steady, predictable kind of life. We see people from all walks of life coming through our door, usually carrying a folder full of receipts and bills. We take those papers and turn them into organized accounts. It’s what we’ve always done here at this address, and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Even when the weather is bad, we're usually here at our desks.
