Ankurhati Gems And Jewellery Manufacturers Welfare Association

Our association is located at 4/2 Middleton Street on the 1st floor. We are right in the heart of Kolkata, 700071. It’s an association for the folks who manufacture gems and jewellery over in Ankurhati. We basically just provide a place for people to get together and deal with the usual business stuff. The office is on the first floor, so you don't have to go up too many steps. It's a plain office. We have some desks and a few filing cabinets. It’s not a place where you’d come for a show. It's for working. We deal with a lot of paperwork. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing and other times it's completely quiet. That's just how it goes. West Bengal has a lot of people in this trade. We try to keep everyone on the same page. It’s not always easy because everyone has their own way of doing things. We don't have a big staff. It's just a couple of us making sure things don't fall apart. Middleton Street is a good location, though parking is a nightmare. Most of us just take the bus or walk. We spend our days answering questions and sorting out manufacturer issues. It's a lot of talking and listening. We aren't doing anything fancy, just keeping the association running as best as we can.
