Akutra Foundation

Our base is at 109 South Nilachal. That’s in Birati. It’s a quiet enough area for the most part, which we like. The foundation isn't run by people in suits or fancy clothes. We are just local folks. We’ve got a small space where we keep our files and meet up to talk. Sometimes we meet at the tea shop nearby if the office feels too small for everyone. We don't have a lot of rules about how things are done. We just make sure the work gets finished. It’s not always easy, but we enjoy being active. Birati is where we live and work, so we care about what happens in the neighborhood. The address is easy to find once you get into South Nilachal. We don’t have a big neon sign or anything like that. Just a small board so people know they’re at the right place. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just walking around meeting people. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or long speeches. We use plain English and speak our minds. Sometimes we disagree on how to do things, but we always figure it out in the end. It’s a practical way to run things. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing plan. We just do the work that comes our way every day and try to help.
