Our business is run by the son of Sk. Mujibar Rahaman. We are located out on Haroa Road, near the Relgate area in Hadipur, Deganga. It is a bit of a trek to get out here if you are coming from the city, but it is where we have our roots. The setup is quite simple. We have a shed where most of the work happens. It’s got a tin roof so when it rains, it gets really loud inside and we can’t even hear each other talk. We just keep our heads down and work. We handle various types of apparel. There are piles of cotton and synthetic fabrics everywhere. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a website with professional photos. We just deal with people directly. Most of our workers live in the surrounding villages and they walk or bike here every morning. It’s a family-style environment. We share our lunches and talk about our kids while we work on the hemlines. The dust from the road comes in sometimes so we have to keep the finished goods covered with plastic sheets. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to produce enough to keep everyone employed and the lights on. It’s honest work and we take it one day at a time. The machines are old but they still run fine if you oil them regularly.
