Narola Gems

We are located in the Bambawadi area of Katargam, which is a real hub for gem work here in Surat. The office is number 407, and it’s right across from the Anath Ashram. If you reach Shyam Marble, you know you are very close to us. It’s a busy neighborhood where everyone seems to be doing something related to stones or diamonds. Inside the office, we have bright lights so we can see everything clearly. It’s not a very big space, but it’s enough for the handful of us who work here. We spend a lot of time sitting at the benches with our tools. There is a lot of noise from the street below, mostly scooters and people talking. Sometimes we go downstairs to the local shop to get some snacks or tea when things get slow. The building is older, and the elevator can be a bit slow on busy days. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us doing the sorting and checking day after day. People stop by to show us things or just to have a quick chat about the market. The air conditioning is usually running full blast because the Surat heat is no joke. It’s a simple, hardworking environment where we just focus on the gems in front of us. Most of the businesses on this street have been here for decades, so it feels like a small community.
